Halls guest policy

Bring a bit of home to your flat

We warmly welcome visitors and guests to our residences! Having friends or family over is a great way to make your flat feel like home, but communal living means we all need to follow a few simple guidelines to keep everyone safe and comfortable.

To ensure life in halls runs smoothly, please make sure you and your guests follow our policy:

You are welcome to have one adult guest stay overnight for a maximum of two nights within any 7 days.

You are entirely responsible for the behaviour of your guests at all times. This applies anywhere in your accommodation, the residence buildings, the grounds, and even the surrounding neighbourhood.

Please ensure your guests respect our community and guidelines. If a guest causes any disturbance, unnecessary wear and tear or malicious/non-malicious damage, you will be held accountable. Serious breaches could lead to disciplinary or legal action, or the early termination of your accommodation agreement.

The university reserves the absolute discretion to remove or exclude any guest from the residence if it is deemed necessary for the safety, security, and well-being of other residents or to safeguard university property.

Please note that the privilege of having overnight guests can be withdrawn by giving 48 hours' notice if necessary for the welfare of the resident community.

We want everyone to enjoy an inclusive, peaceful, and secure environment during their time at Leicester. If you have any further questions, you can reach out to our ResLife team.
