What NOT to bring
To keep everyone in halls safe and comfortable, certain items aren't allowed in accommodation.
Please use this checklist before moving in to make sure your room stays safe and free from potential hazards.
- Shisha/hookah pipes and charcoal burners
- BBQs (including disposable BBQs)
- Fire pits
- Portable camping stoves (any fuel type)
- Heated electrical blankets and heated throws
- Candles/incense burners
- Self-heating cooking appliances without a timer
- No cooking items in rooms, only kitchens
- Extension leads
- Unapproved/non-UK compliant electrical items (no CE/UKCA, imported chargers)
- High-powered gaming PCs
- Electrical appliances must be PAT-tested
- Personal fridges (not medical)
- E-scooters
- Bicycles (inside accommodation)
- Motorcycle parts
- Vapes/e-cigarettes
- Nitrous oxide (N20) canisters
- Large quantities of aerosols (deodorant stockpiling, etc)
- Petrol/diesel/fuel containers
- Solvents/paint thinners
- Large quantities of cleaning chemicals
- Fireworks/flares/smoke bombs
- Chemicals or biological substances that have the potential to cause harm to human health or the environment
- Firearms
- Air-weapons
- Bows
- Blades/swords/martial arts weapons
- Paintball guns
- Replica, ceremonial and toy weapons
- Attachments to water systems
